MEET THE TEAM
GEORGE WISNIEWSKI
George Wisniewski is stoked to be Slice Beer’s head brewer! Born and raised in New York City, George first started homebrewing as a hobby whilst working at an Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. It wasn’t long before he realized that he wanted to turn this passion into a career. This brought him to complete the Master Brewers Certificate Program at UC Davis, where he learned foundational skills necessary to succeed and excel in the industry. From there, he went back to the east coast to work his way up from cellarman to brewer at Barrier Brewing Company in Long Island. The lure of the California sunshine eventually became too much to ignore, so he moved back to California in 2020 to join Slice as its assistant brewer. Having been a part of almost every beer brewed in Slice since then, he can’t wait to continue to offer up the dankest west coast IPAs, the juiciest hazy IPAs, the crispiest lagers, and many more for years to come!
George believes in doing everything in his power to create world class beers, and ensures no corners are ever cut in the making of his brews.
“Brewing is the perfect blend of art and science.”
RUSS YEAGER
Russ Yeager has been a beer enthusiast from the beginning and got his start in the business world of beer, working as an industry supplier and traveling to breweries and beer festivals all over the country, always seeking out different and exciting breweries during his travels. Joining OTP in 2010 as Marketing Director, his talents helped to solidify the company’s brand, growing and expanding significantly since he joined the team. Russ also brought his love of craft beer to OTP in 2015 – by putting a large beer bar, with 24 beers on draft, center stage at their Roseville location and making it a highly respected go-to for enjoying not only pizza, but also craft beer. Russ now wears multiple hats, continuing on at OTP’s new Auburn location as well as the Lincoln location, conveniently located right next door to Slice.
Like his experience with OTP, Russ strives to create a familiar and comfortable atmosphere at Slice.
“We’re like another family - you’re always going to know what to expect when you come in!”
The Brewery, taproom and beers
At Slice Beer Co., we make the most out of every square foot. Our brewery operates out of a tightly packed 1,100-square-foot production space, powered by a 10 BBL brewhouse, six 20 BBL fermentors, and one 10 BBL fermentor.
Our cozy 500-square-foot taproom seats up to 32 guests, offering an intimate atmosphere with two televisions, a roll-up door, and a small patio for fresh air and natural light. Out front, a larger parklet expands our seating capacity with space for an additional 56 guests to relax and enjoy.
We build our beers on a foundation of high-quality ingredients and the soft, pristine water of our local area. While hop-forward beers steal the spotlight, we also craft fruited sours, crisp lagers, rich stouts, and refreshing non-alcoholic hop water, ensuring there's something for everyone. By focusing on small batches and hands-on brewing, we guarantee every pour is fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable.
